Collection: Studies and Sketches

Welcome to my Studio Studies — original small paintings from my Torbay studio.

Here you’ll find en plein air oil sketches, colour studies, and preparatory works I create before starting my larger Collector Originals. Each is painted from life, signed, and one-of-a-kind.

These studies are how I explore light in the Devon landscape, test compositions, and capture fleeting moments that later become in-depth paintings. Same brushes. Same oil paints. Same hands. I release a small selection for auction on eBay. This gives new collectors a chance to own an original Peter M Spencer painting from £9.99 — often the first step into collecting British contemporary art. No prints. No copies. 

Every piece is a unique original with a Certificate of Ownership and Authenticity included.
