Collection: John Musgrave Heritage Trail

The John Musgrave Heritage Trail some 35 miles in length begins on the glorious South Devon Coast at Maidencombe North of Babacombe. If you are looking for a location to use as a base and stay the night before Babacombe would be an ideal spot. A bus from here will then take you to Maidencombe where you can begin your walk.

Oddicombe Beach is worth a visit if time permits it is at the base of Babacombe Cliff, it can be walked to or the vernacular railway can be used. It's especially useful when returning to the top.

The views from Babacombe cliff are stunning.

From Maidencombe the trail then meanders along the coast and inland over rolling hills visiting hot spots in Torquay, Totnes, The River Dart, Dittisham, and a Ferry past Agatha Christies Devon Home and finally ending the journey at Brixham Harbour.

This ongoing collection is a great excuse to explore the surrounding area while creating great atmospheric oil painting landscapes.
