1.0 What a mess! My Artist Sanctuary is no more!

I have spent a number of days moving my art studio contents upstairs and taking up carpets downstairs ready for building work. This is now my temporary art studio, office and lounge. I am hoping to continue getting some art completed although for some tasks I will have to wait for the rain to stop and take things outside. Where there is a will!

2.0 Title: Step On The Path and The Way Will Open Up For You!

At 3 O’clock in the morning the same night after starting the artworks “Who Am I As A Whole Soul” I awoke with the following thoughts that would not allow me to sleep. I had to get up and write them down and even then more inspired ideas came flooding in.

At the art club earlier that day when starting the four panels that I showed in the last newsletter, on a post it note I wrote the title above and placed the post-it note in the middle of the four panels so that my intent was clear. I then began to paint.

In addition to this when talking to others at the art club about the challenge I had set myself, I told them that I had read the following statement the previous week, “ Step On The Path and The Way will Open Up For You”. By starting the paintings without a clear idea as to how I will create an image that depicts who I am as a whole soul I am effectively stepping onto the path. I did feel some guidance came my way while painting but was not expecting the wake up call!

My experience at 3 O’clock in the morning was in my opinion “The Way” at least to some extent being shown to me. These are the inspired thoughts and ideas that came into my consciousness.

The description for my painting:

    1. Who Am I as A Whole Soul

      I am man from two

      I am spirit of air

      I am you

I am eternally more than I.

  1. I could add the letters PMS(W) to the artworks. (Personal meaning)
  2. I could add a feather to the artwork having various meanings
  3. I could add clouds to the artworks
  4. I should add more layers and textures.
  5. The artwork can contain things not presently understood
  6. I could consider doing artwork on commission for other interested enthusiasts of art and spirit of their own personal “Who Am I As A Whole Soul” artworks.
  7. This was followed by many ideas as to how I could create such an artwork for others

Needless to say it was several hours before I got to sleep and in the morning I woke fully enthused and inspired. Here is the first stage of the larger artwork started the next day.

3.0 Title: Who Am I?

Last time we watched a video by George Thompson “The Subtle Art of Losing Yourself” and I moved on from that video asking you to contemplate the question “Who might we be as a whole soul?” based on the idea that we have existed both in previous physical lives and as conscious soul beings. Here are my personal thoughts on this idea.

1. If we have lived a number of previous lives which some would say is quit likely given the evidence of studies into reincarnation and peoples experiences of NDE’s, then our knowledge and total understanding as a whole soul is most likely far superior and extensive than our limited conscious knowledge within this life alone.

2. If we accept the idea that we also exist between lives as some form of spirit with a soul body, then we most likely:

a) continue to have conscious awareness,

b) will no doubt combine our learning and awareness from many lives along with our learning and development gained within our spiritual existence.

c) will potentially be a very different person to who we are within this single lifetime.

3. What type of personality do I think I might have as a whole soul? This is of course impossible to answer, however I do believe that our underlying traits probably point to who we may be as a whole soul. I believe I am probably a fairly well rounded person who has the ability to listen and consider other views even when I do not believe them to be true. I am a gentle soul and often relaxed about the necessity and importance of specific outcomes. In this life some may say too relaxed. We can of course consider many traits but we may at some point consider what the purpose of this current life is and did we come with some form of personality trait in order to align with that purpose.

4. Could I enhance and develop my current personality to align with my whole soul personality. This is of course a personal question and I think is quite relevant. Would most of us automatically suggest that we are already aligned, or can we be detached enough to consider how we may differ and perhaps could improve. For me this is something I need more time to meditate on perhaps and to contemplate further.

If you have not already done so, please let me know how you found this exercise and what you thought. Thank You!
