1.0 Work In Progress
It has been way too long since I last published a newsletter, and I apologise for the delay. In the sailing world, there is a term called being in the doldrums; the lack of wind brings progress to a halt. For a few months now, I feel my focus has been split between some pressing life issues and a lack of artistic drive. I have, of course, been continuing with my art and have participated in several exhibitions; however, the enthusiasm has been lacking, and I did not wish to share those challenges as I wish to bring more joy into your world, not overload others with my challenges. With that said, I am re-focused and ready to share the joy, peace, and harmony.
Arrival 1: This work was inspired by words and a vision that woke me early from my slumber. I was compelled to write down what had been presented to me, and later began this painting. Here are the words I wrote:
Arrival: I have arrived in spirit, allowed to rest awhile, I know not for how long, just long enough.
I arise and begin to explore. I have a friend to guide me. I am like a new student in a wonderful university, a child in a sweet shop, everything is wondrously full of potential.
We pass other souls, they know, (I am newly arrived), and as we silently pass and connect, they gift a welcome. The feeling is like a beautiful smile, a big hug, all wrapped in a comfy, warm duvet.
The overall feeling here now is a sense of relief and freedom. I am home and at one.
The painting process, as outlined below, was also presented to me during another night when I woke. I followed this process with the above painting.
Process:
1. Relax, take deep breaths, let go.
2. Step into the Spiritual cloak of an artist.
3. Be free to experiment and apply.
4. Feel: Colour, texture, pattern, mood.
5. Imagine: Being surrounded by guiding lights, they encourage and support you.
6. Be at one.
7. Play music.
8. Feel your way.
This method and approach to painting is fairly new to me, and I am finding that my initial intentions and expectations are quickly replaced by what feels like inspired guidance. It is not a technique that some would enjoy, and probably not be recommended by the artists who like to have a clear picture of the finished painting in their mind's eye before they start. I am, however, finding it both joyful and exhilarating.
The result in this painting is very pleasing and, IMHO portrays the essence of my inspired words. This subject matter is, I feel, very difficult as I am trying hard not to be considered a fantasy artist. One who makes fantasy landscape images from their physical imagination. There are many great artists like this, and their work is wonderful. I am hoping that my work stands out from this simply because it is inspired by spirit and not my physical imagination, as a result, the paintings may significantly vary in content and I believe hold more meaning for us all.
My goal continues to be to bring joy, peace, and harmony into people's lives, the world, and beyond with my art and shared insights. I hope you enjoy it, and please feel free to ask any questions. Thank You!

2.0 Spiritual Energy:
Our energy and spiritual essence are at a vibrational level that goes beyond physical existence. We can know and experience our eternal spiritual existence, and with practice, that knowing becomes more concrete, positive, and affirmed. We can feel our spiritual energetic experience when we apply comfort and express healing intent through our hands. Mothers do this naturally with their children, and both parent and child can know and feel the energetic transfer. We can see our energetic spiritual existence when we close our eyes and, with our inner vision, we see colours, light, and movement. In addition, we can be guided to other times and places and envision scenes beyond those we have known or physically experienced in this lifetime. (Past Life Regression experiences). When we defocus our eyes and look away from and to the side of our hand, or another person, we can begin to notice a shimmer around the hand or body. (Seeing the aura). There are many ways we can experience our spiritual existence if we choose to do so, and that experience can be enhanced with practice. Personal experience will always be more aligned with absolute proof than descriptions from experiences other people have had.
If this is of interest to you, I would like to know more, and perhaps have some burning questions you would like to ask. Feel free to do so.

3.0 Title – YouTube and Film Guide:
You Tube: The Artist and The Shaman by Paul Davids https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q19bfY91Xr8
Film: Available on streaming channels and DVD. “Summer in February” (About A J Munnings and wife relationship in Cornwall). The Newlyn School of artists flourished at the beginning of the 20th Century and the film focuses on the wild and bohemian Lamorna Group, which included Alfred Munnings and Laura and Harold Knight. The incendiary anti-Modernist Munnings, now regarded as one of Britain's most sought-after artists, is at the centre of the complex love triangle, involving aspiring artist Florence Carter Wood and Gilbert Evans, the land agent in charge of the Lamorna Valley estate. True - and deeply moving - the story is played out against the timeless beauty of the Cornish coast, in the approaching shadow of The Great War.
